MultiVAC Testnet 2.0 Mining Guides

To encourage all the community to join the fair mining, MultiVAC testnet 2.0 provides two mining modes.

  • Self-Mining: you need to equip yourself with a hardware and run the clients by yourself.
  • Cloud-Mining: you don’t need to equip any hardware or software. The MultiVAC team will run the node with the cloud servers for you automatically. You only need to pay the cost of the cloud services, which will be deducted directly from your deposit.

General mining process: Apply for mining whitelist →Transfer mining deposit→Wait for review(about 24 hours)→Start mining and check the reward.

1. Apply for the Whitelist and Transfer Mining Deposit

2. Wait for Review

The team will manually review all the applications.

Mining will be started immediately after the approval, please pay attention to the official announcement. (Your application will be approved within 24 hours)

Please note here:

(1) Due to the large volume of applications and limited whitelist places, your patience to wait would be appreciated.

(2) If you have already filled the form in the recent pre-application, you don’t need to fill it again. Please just wait for the approval.

3. Start Mining

3.1 Cloud-Mining (No need to do anything. We will start it for you.)

If you get into the whitelist, the team will start Cloud-Mining automatically for you. You just need to wait for the reward.

3.2 Self-Mining (download, configure and execute the mining client on your machine)

(1) Equip the required hardware

  • Lowest hardware requirements: 2-core CPU, 4GB memory (Hardware is irrelevant to the mining speed)
  • Operating system: Linux or macOS (any version)

(2) Gain the mining client from the admin.

(3) Open the client and add execute permission.

chmod +x ./MultiVAC

(4) Execute the mining client

./MultiVAC -C=mtv_conf.json -H=data

(5) Configure the port and public key/private key according to the prompts.

1 Server listen port: Set any ports that are not occupied by this unit. (Default: 8333) : [If you use the default value, press Enter to skip]

2 Rpc listen port: Set any ports that are not occupied by this unit. (Default: 8334) : [If you use the default value, press Enter to skip]
3 Username: Please set it yourself
4 Password: Please set it yourself
5 Privatekey: Enter the saved test network private key
6 Reward address: Enter the saved test network address

(6) Receive whitelist successfully and wait for synchronization

(7) Synchronization is successful and the consensus is in progress

(8) The local packaged blocks successfully generate, and the mining reward is obtained.

Activity update

The deposit of MultiVAC testnet 2.0 has reached 100 million on June 30. We will buy back 70 MTV from the exchange as the reward of the second pre-mining phase to distribute to all miners this week. Please check.

The third phase reward rules(100 million to 150 million)

Basic mining rules are not changed but the bonus varies in different stages. In the third phase,there are two new incentives that are “Invention rewards” and “Newcomer Protection”.

Invitation Rewards
Invite your friends to join mining, and ask them to fill in your ETH wallet address in the “Inviter” section of MultiVAC “Mining Application Form”. When the total deposits reach 150 million, we will calculate each person’s accumulated deposits from all the miners you directly invited. You will get the bonus based on the amounts of these deposits as below:

0–100 thousand, 1% extra bonus;
>100 thousand~500 thousand, 2% extra bonus;
>500 thousand~1 million, 5% extra bonus;
>1 million ~ 3 million, 7% extra bonus;
>3 million, 10% extra bonus;

For example, if you invited 5 friends to mine and their total deposits are 2 million MTV, you will get 7% of the deposits which is 140 thousand MTV.

Newcomer Protection
In the third stage, both old miners or new miners, the newly added deposits will be double rewarded in the first seven days.

Zero Mining Threshold
From this stage, the minimum deposits will be abolished. Any amounts will be accepted to be a miner. But please note that the minimum reward unit will be 100MTV.
